Evidence and Methods Lab (EML) is a civic-tech and data organization that strengthens accountability, citizen participation, and evidence-based governance across Africa. Through its flagship program, #WeShapeGov, EML curates citizen voices, promotes public engagement, and connects people to institutions that shape their everyday lives. Under #WeShapeGov, the Faayo platform enables citizens to share feedback on public services, while the Citizen Letters initiative collects handwritten letters from communities to bring personal experiences directly to leaders and the public. Together, these initiatives bridge the gap between citizens and decision-makers by transforming lived experiences into evidence for advocacy, reform, and better governance. In collaboration with Citizen Champions, EML is running the #WeShapeGov initiative, exploring the use of citizen letters and the Faayo platform to gather citizens' feedback on the services received while collecting data that will be used to inform decision making processes.
